BoroScience Opens South Carolina Company
BoroScience International, Inc. was incorporated in Columbia, South Carolina, USA in Jan, 2007. The Columbia, SC region is actively engaged in the creation of the first integrated Fuel Cell district in the United States, (www.fuelcellchallenge.com). Bernard F. Spielvogel, Ph.D., Founder and President, stated "with our company`s emphasis on boron containing solid source hydrogen compounds, this region is ideal for our growth and service to the hydrogen economy".
BoroScience International, Inc. already is scaling up and producing multi kg quantities of ammonia-borane, a compound containing 19.6% by weight hydrogen. Ammonia-borane is attracting worldwide attention and R&D for use in fuel cells for portable power. An added emphasis for large scale production of ammonia-borane by BoroScience is the production of borazine from ammonia-borane by a proprietary process. Borazine and polyborazylene prepared from borazine have considerable potential to yield valuable advanced boron nitride materials.
